  • Wearing face masks is a must, and you can also wear gloves for extra protection
  • Practice social distancing and COVID-appropriate behaviour at various touchpoints of your journey

  • Upon arrival at your destination, please adhere to the health protocols as laid out by the destination state/UT
  • Wait at the baggage hold area till the baggage arrives in batches; you are requested to follow the markings at the baggage belt
  • Remember to follow the social distancing markings and signage at various processing points
  • All the food & beverages counters are audited daily to ensure safety, hygiene and contactless interaction. We encourage you to use digital payment methods instead of cash
  • The taxis at the airport are regularly sanitised, and all the outsourced drivers working with Mumbai Airport are double-vaccinated

Customs

Once you have collected your bags, proceed towards Customs for goods clearance. Across major international airports in India, there are two channels for baggage clearance:

Please note that non-declaration and wrongful declaration of any dutiable goods may attract confiscation of goods, fine or penalty. Severe offences like attempting to smuggle gold without declaration may lead to imprisonment and prosecution. Indian Revenue Department has specified a list of items, including the size, that can now be imported duty-free as part of the baggage.

You can get more customs-related information, and other rules and regulations on this link.

Additionally, ATITHI@Indian Customs, a mobile application, has been developed by the Directorate General of Systems, Central Board of Indirect Taxes (CBIC), Ministry of Finance, and the Government of India to drive digital governance in the country. The application provides a platform for visitors worldwide travelling to India to file their baggage, goods and currency declarations. It also offers other citizen-centric services.

ATITHI@Indian Customs is available on Google Play & App Store.
