About Shillong Airport

The Shillong airport (IATA: SHL) is the primary airport in Meghalaya and is located 30 km from the city centre. It sits at the height of 2,908 feet above sea level. It was built in the mid-1960s and was opened to the public in the mid-1970s. It is operated by both the Airports Authority of India and the Indian Air Force.
