Only a single domestic terminal is present at the airport for handling departure and arrival of flights. Pondicherry Airport is connected to some of the major cities across the country, such as Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Kochi, and more. The airport is located in Lawspet, around 3 km from the city. Pondicherry Airport was built in 1989. However, its operations were halted for some time. However, in 2007 AAI took over the airport and flight operations were resumed. Agra Airport, named Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Airport (IATA: AGR), has a single terminal and operates only domestic flight operations. Situated 6 km outside Agra city, the airport has limited connectivity. However, direct flights to the metro cities of Bhopal, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, and Bangalore, are available from the airport. Agra Airport started its operations during the 2nd World War. Later, it was renamed the Air Force Station of Agra and was established on 15th August 1947. It acts as a military airbase and a public airport, serving the city of Agra and adjacent regions. The airport is situated on the VIP Road and operates daily flights to Delhi. Various facilities that you can avail of while you are in the Agra airport include assistance for senior citizens and the physically challenged, smoking lounges, free trolleys, cash machine, ATMs, car rental services, taxi services, and more. Car rental services to get to the main city and surrounding cities, are available outside Agra Airport.
