About Aizawl

Aizwal is the capital of Mizoram, a state in Northeast India. The name Aizawl translates to ìhome of the highlandersî as it is the remotest capital city in the country, located on the steep slopes of a sharp ridge. The city has a strong mix of tribal culture and colonial influences and an abundance of natural beauty. The Durtlang peaks surround it, and the Rivers Tlawng and Tuirial cut through it, making for the most picturesque views. Aizwal is known for its Mizo handicrafts, which include bamboo work, handloom textiles, wood carvings, and metal crafts. The city has a few museums, including the Mizoram State Museum, which houses a collection of traditional Mizo costumes, musical instruments, and handicrafts.
