About Pune Airport

Pune Airport (IATA: PNQ) is located 10 km from the city centre, in Lohegaon. It was established as a Royal Air Force (RAF) base in 1939. After independence, it was used by the Lohegaon base of the Indian Air Force (IAF). It was conferred the status of an international airport in 2005. The airport operates as a civil enclave. Located 32 km northwest of the city of Aizawl, Lengpui Airport (IATA: AJQ) is built and managed by the state government. The airport was inaugurated in 1995 with the ambitious goal of improving tourism in Mizoram. A unique feature of this airport is its 2,500-metre-long runway, surrounded by hills and streams. Itís one of the three airports in India to have a tabletop runway.
