After the war, the airport was transformed into an operational aviation base and used for commercial purposes. Tezpur is an ancient city in Assam's Sonitpur district, located on the north bank of the River Brahmaputra. The airport has a single terminal for arrivals and departures and can handle up to 120 passengers during peak hours.
