The official name of the Aurangabad Airport is Chikkalthana Airport (IATA: IXU) and is maintained by the Airports Authority of India. The airport is located about 6 km from the city centre. It was opened in 2008 and connects passengers to all major cities in the country like Delhi, Jaipur, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. Aurangabad is the 17th airport to offer Hajj services, with 28 weekly flights during this season. The airport has free baggage services, food counters and beverage shops in the domestic terminal. Public transportation options are easily available outside the airport.
