About Tirupati Airport

The Tirupati International Airport is an international airport in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. It is located about 2.8 km from the NH (National Highway) 71 and approximately 16 km from the Tirupati city centre. The Tirupati International Airport has a new terminal called the Garuda Terminal, built next to the old domestic terminal. This integrated terminal covers an area of 16500 sq km and can accommodate up to 200 international travellers and 500 domestic travellers at a time. Also, the Tirupati International Airport has a single runway that is 2286 metres long and it is being extended. With 18 new check-in counters, four counters for immigration services, one baggage conveyor for departures and four for arrivals, and three carousels for baggage claim upon arrival, the Tirupati International Airport can handle an annual footfall of approximately 6,00,000 passengers.
