About Hyderabad Airport

Hyderabad Airport (IATA: HYD), also known as Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, serves Hyderabad, the state capital of Andhra Pradesh. It replaced Begumpet Airport as Hyderabad's primary international airport when it opened in 2008. Located in the Shamshabad suburbs, around 22 km from the city, this airport is constructed and maintained as a public-private collaboration. It is also one of India's few Greenfield airports, striving to conserve energy and the environment through the use of eco-friendly architecture. ASQ named it one of the "World's Top 3 Airports." There are also proposals to create India's first green Aerotropolis (Airport city) near India's sixth-busiest airport, Hyderabad Airport. The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has a single, integrated terminal for both domestic and international aircraft. Also, the airport has a separate terminal for Hajj travellers. This is an exclusive terminal, and other passengers are not permitted to use it. The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport connects Hyderabad to various destinations in India and around the world. Hyderabad to Mumbai and Hyderabad to New Delhi are two major domestic routes. Flights to other Indian cities such as Bengaluru, Chennai, Lucknow, Vijayawada, Raipur, and many more are also available from Hyderabad. International flights connect places such as Abu Dhabi, Doha, Dubai, London, and Chicago.

About Hyderabad

Hyderabad is the most populated city in Telangana and the fifth-largest in India. It is regarded as one of the country's most important urban centres. Hyderabad served as the state capital of Andhra Pradesh from 1956 until 2014. However, when Telangana was formed from Andhra Pradesh in 2014, it was assigned as the capital of both states. It is situated on the Musi River in the middle of the Telangana Plateau. The region was ruled by the Nizams, the Qutub Shahis, and the Mughals, who shaped the city. Bhagyanagar, the capital, was named after a royal beloved, Bhagyamati, who later as the wife of Quli Qutub Shah, was named Hyder Mahal and thus, the name Hyderabad was born. Hyderabad has been a major pearl and diamond trading hub, and is still known as the City of Pearls. Many of the city's old and traditional bazaars have been open for generations, including Begum Bazaar, Laad Bazaar, and Sultan Bazaar. The city's culture is a mash-up of its people, resulting in diversity in language, lifestyle, and tradition. The city's crime rate is quite low, which makes it safe to stroll around at any time of day or night. Hyderabad, a fantastic destination for travellers, offers an enriching experience with a blend of fascinating structural wonders and rich cultural history. One can explore the museums, temples, zoos, and monuments and bring back beautiful memories.
