About Jabalpur Airport

Locally known as the Dumna Airport, the Jabalpur Airport is situated in Madhya Pradesh. No direct international flights are available to this airport. However, the airport is highly used by domestic tourists to visit the local well-known tourist spots and thus has become the third busiest airport in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The airport currently occupies a land area of 774 acres. It has a single runway and a maiden terminal, handling around 200 passengers at rush hours. The airport was initially built during the 1930s and was heavily used as a base for launching flights during the Second World War. It had a dirt runway, which now has been converted into a proper cemented runway. There are plans by the Airport Authority of India to construct a new terminal and extend the existing terminal. Once the airport is upgraded and modernised, it won't be just limited to domestic flights but also open to international flights.
