On 2nd November 2022, the Ministry of Civil Aviation notified the renaming of the airport as Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport with effect. While Yusaf Khan went across the river Sutlej, Ninhand Khan founded the city in Mir Hota and called it Lodhi-ana meaning the town of Lodhi. Lodhi-ana got modernised to Ludhiana. The best time to visit the city is from October to February, the winter season in Ludhiana. The minimum temperature is 6∞C and the maximum is 20∞C, making the weather pleasant and ideal to explore the city. Ludhianaís summer season is from April to June, and the temperature ranges from 26∞C to 39∞C. This can seem quite hot to visitors. It rains only in July and August in Ludhiana, and in September, it only drizzles in some parts of the city.
