About Goa Airport

Goa Airport, also known as the Dabolim Airport (IATA Code: GOI), is located in the capital city of Panaji. It is the only international airport serving Goa, which also functions as a civil enclave in a military airbase. Established during the early 1950s by the Portuguese, it was later occupied by the Indian Navy after Goa was freed from Portugal rule. Dabolim Airport has an integrated terminal for domestic and international arrivals and departures, spread over an area of 65600 sq m. It is situated approximately 30 km from Panaji city centre. Handing around 80 lakh annual passengers from India and other countries, Goa Airport is one of the busiest. Hence, travellers can expect to find various modern facilities at Dabolim Airport. Bank services like ATMs and currency exchange counters are situated within the terminal building. Paid Wi-Fi services are also available within the premises. Many restaurants are located near the international and domestic sections, with an airline lounge operating in the domestic terminal. In the international departures and arrivals area, duty-free shops sell perfumes, toiletries, electronic items, liquor, cigarettes, watches, and many other items. Books, newspapers, and clothes are also sold in the terminal. Buses, taxis, shuttle buses, and rental cars are available to passengers to travel to and from the airport.

About Goa

Goa is one of the most popular tourist destinations in India and around the world. This small coastal state is located on the west coast of India. Formerly a Portuguese colony, Goa has many attractions, from stunning natural landscapes to architectural splendours. Lined by palm-fringed beaches with golden sand, lush green countryside, forts, monuments, quaint churches, and ancient temples, Goa is distinguished for its nature, architecture, and history. The tropical climate of Goa welcomes tourists all year round. Moreover, the cultural blend of east-meets-west seen here makes it a vibrant destination for every traveller. Known for its heritage, Goa also hosts many festivals that celebrate culture, music, dance, and other local art forms. In particular, the annual Goa Carnival is a major crowd-puller and attracts tourists from all over India. Goa has something for every traveller. Many wildlife sanctuaries are housed in the state, making it an ideal place for nature enthusiasts. Old Goa, south of River Mandovi, is dotted with beautiful churches that display postcard-worthy views in every corner. Many exotic spice plantations can also be found here. Central Goa is ideal for those looking for trendy beaches, happening restaurants, cafes, and nightlife. On the other hand, South Goa, with its pristine secluded beaches, is an ideal choice for travellers looking for a tranquil atmosphere. Since Goa has historical roots in many cultures like Portuguese, Arab, Chinese, and native Konkani, its culinary traditions, too, are distinct from the rest of the country. While rice dishes are popular here, beef and seafood are also widely consumed. One of the most popular dishes is the Goan Vindaloo, a delicious curry often paired with local beer. Whether you are looking for a quiet getaway or an exciting adventure, Goa is a destination you must add to your bucket list.
