About Bhuj Airport

Bhuj Airport (IATA: BHJ) was established in 2003 and is located 5 km north of Bhuj city. Originally constructed to serve the Indian Air Force as a military base, the airport is prominent to the countryís defence on the Indo-Pak border. After being damaged in the 2001 earthquake, the airport was rebuilt as a civilian airport. Bhuj is a municipality that serves as the district headquarters of Kutch, Gujarat. The town was founded in 1510 and made the capital of Kutch in 1549.
