About Bilaspur Airport

Bilaspur Airport (IATA: PAB), officially known as the Bilasa Devi Kevat Airport, is situated in the Chakarbhata area, about 13 km to the south of the Bilaspur city centre. It was built by the British Royal Air Force in 1942 and was used by Vayudoot in the 1980s to offer flights to Nagpur, Bhopal, Mumbai, & Delhi. The airport is a hub for commercial scheduled flights to and from Delhi, Bhopal, Jabalpur, & Allahabad. Its daily operations are managed by the Airports Authority of India and is also used for pilot training purposes. Bilaspur Airport has a single terminal catering to domestic flights. It has a single runway which is 1.535 metres long and 25 metres wide and the airport can accommodate about 150 passengers. It connects to cities such as Allahabad, Jabalpur, Indore, Bhopal, etc via Alliance Air. The airport was categorised as 2C before 2021 since only 40-seater aircrafts could land at the airport. After February 2021, the airport has been upgraded to 3C category and 72-seater aircrafts can also land at the airport. Bilaspurís new bus stand is located at a convenient 9.4 km away from the airport whereas Bilaspur Railway Junction is located 12.4 km away from the airport.
