With the inauguration of the new terminal building, Vadodara Airport has gained international airport status. The airport lies around 8 km from the Vadodara Junction railway station. It is ranked the second-cleanest airport in India. The domestic terminal displays a beautiful style of Gujarati architecture, with its dome-like structure. The new terminal building is spread over 18,120 sq m, and can handle 700 passengers (500 domestic and 200 international). Air India and IndiGo are the carriers that operate from here. Many facilities are available at the airport. Baggage handling, wheelchairs for the physically challenged, ATMs, a lounge, shops selling local handicrafts, ethnic jewellery, clothes, books, magazines, newspapers, and a few eateries where one can snack, are a few of the facilities available here. Located at Chakarbhata, 10 km from Bilaspur city, Bilaspur Airport (IATA: PAB), also known as Bilasa Devi Kevat Airport, is managed by the Airports Authority of India. During the 1980s, the airport was exclusively used by Vayudoot to operate flights to other cities. Currently, it is being used for pilot training and aviation. Alliance Air and Air India operate flights from Bilaspur to New Delhi, Prayagraj, Jabalpur, and Bhopal. Recently, flights have been launched operating 4 days a week from Bilaspur to Indore. It has only one terminal building. The single runway can accommodate the landing of a 72-seater aircraft. All basic facilities are available at the small airport.

Bilaspur, originally known as Kahlur, lies on the banks of the Arpa River in Chhattisgarh. It was founded in the 7th century.
