About Vijayawada Airport

Vijayawada Airport (IATA Code: VGA), officially known as NTR Amaravati International Airport, is an international airport located at Gannavaram, 17 km from the city centre. This airport was used during World War II as an army base. It is one of the busiest airports in the state now and receives high passenger traffic annually. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) now handles the airport's administration. Vijayawada Airport has only one runway and a single integrated terminal.
