About Belgaum Airport

The Belgaum Airport, also known as the Belgavi Airport is located 10 km east from the city centre. This domestic airport is next to the Sambra Air Force Station, which is a non-flying training centre for the Indian Air Force. The Royal Airforce established the Belgaum Airport in 1942 and air operations began in 1947. Many private airlines operated out of the airport between 1989 to 2011.
