About Durgapur Airport

The Durgapur Airport, officially known as the Kazi Nazrul Islam Airport, is a domestic airport in Andal, Paschim Bardhaman in West Bengal. This airport is part of Bengal Aerotropolis Projects Limited's first private sector Aerotropolis and is 15 km from the city centre. It was named after a Bengali poet, Kazi Nazrul Islam. The current passenger terminal at the Durgapur Airport can accommodate 1 million passengers per year and is 5,750 sqm in size. This airport has a 2,800 m runway with a CAT I instrument landing system (ILS). The airport can currently accommodate narrow-body planes like the Airbus A321 and Boeing 737-900. The Durgapur Airport is also equipped with five parking spaces, one helipad, and Category 7 firefighting equipment. For the ease of passengers, there are six check-in counters with Common Use Terminal Equipment (CUTE) and two baggage conveyor belts in the arrival hall. While at the airport, passengers can shop at branded retail stores and avail themselves of food and beverages. Besides, there are ATMs, a clinic, a pharmacy, a baby-care area, Wi-Fi services, a hotel booking counter, a convenience store, and a spa at the airport.
