About Kanpur Airport

Kanpur Airport (IATA: KNU, ICAO: VECX), also known as the Chakeri Air Force Station, was designed specifically for the Indian Air Force. Regular flights to Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Allahabad, and Pune began in the 1970s when the airport was partially opened to the public. Passengers migrated away from Kanpur Airport since the CCS International Amausi Airport provided greater connectivity, limiting the frequency of such flights. Currently, a single domestic terminal serves domestic flights to and from Kanpur with two boarding gates. The terminal has a total capacity of 50 passengers for both arrivals and departures. The terminal, 390 square metres in size, has one check-in and one security counter. At the airport, there are two X-ray baggage scanning facilities. General passenger amenities are provided, such as free trolleys, wheelchairs, a lost and found baggage desk, and escort aid for aged and physically-challenged passengers. From the Kanpur Airport, Mahanagar Bus Sewa and other operators provide city bus services. Passengers can also take advantage of available taxi and car rental services to their desired locations.
