Formally known as Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (IATA: HYD), Hyderabad Airport is located 24 km southwest of Hyderabad, in Shamshabad. Opened in 2008, this airport replaced Begumpet Airport as the main international airport in Hyderabad. The airport runs flights by Alliance Air, IndiGo, SpiceJet, and Air India to cities across India, including Delhi, Goa, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, and Chennai. The airport has a single terminal that handles both domestic and international flights. There is a separate terminal for Hajj pilgrims. The airport has 98 check-in counters and 24 self-check-in kiosks for passengers who just have carry-on luggage. The outgoing terminal has 14 counters, while the arrival terminal has 20 counters. It is the first airport in India to use an in-line approach to handling bags. For the convenience of passengers, the airport is equipped with all modern amenities, including free Wi-Fi, infant care areas, ATMs, a lost-and-found counter, medical aid, currency exchange, wheelchair facilities, and a pharmacy. There are also retail stores and a variety of dining options on-site. Visitors can use the bus or car rental services at the airport to get around and beyond the city. The second largest city which has a strong impact on Marathwada region in Maharashtra is known as Nanded. It is located in the banks eastern part of Maharashtra, beside the banks of Godavari river. Nanded has been divided in two parts, Old Nanded and New Nanded. The Old Nanded has occupied the north bank of the Godavari River which is situated in around 21 square kilometres.
