About Jodhpur Airport

Jodhpur Airport (IATA code: JDH) is a civil airport, part of which is shared with the airforce station of the Indian Air Force (IAF). The airport terminal is spread across 5,690 square metres. There are seven check-in counters and three boarding gates at the terminal.Rajasthan State Government signed an MOU with the IAF in March 2017 to expand the airport. Based on this MOU, 37 acres of land belonging to the IAF were allocated to the Airports Authority of India, ready for civil use.The Jodhpur Flying Club, a small airfield near the Chittar Palace (also known as Umaid Bhawan), was established by Maharaja Umaid Singh in the 1920s. About Dehradun Airport

The official name of Dehradun Airport (IATA code: DED) is Jolly Grant Airport. It is located around 30 Km from the city centre.Dehradun Airport was constructed in 1974. In 2007, the Airport Authority of India began an airport modernisation plan for Jolly Grant Airport. The runway was extended from 3,500 feet to 7,000 feet and broadened from 23 to 45 metres to make the landing easier for narrow-body jets like the Airbus 320 and the Boeing 737. A new terminal building was constructed along with a night landing system and an ATC tower. Commercial operations resumed at the airport in 2008 after the completion of the runaway extensions, and a new terminal was unveiled in 2009.This newly constructed airport is 35 Km from Haridwar and 20 Km from Rishikesh, making the region accessible to travellers. It is nearly a 1-hour drive from Jolly Grant Airport to the city centre of Dehradun. It is one of the busiest airports in India, with around 1.2 million passengers each year. The airport is crucial to Uttarakhand tourism and is known as the Air Gateway of Garhwal.
