About Andaman Airport

Andaman airport is located in Port Blair. Known as the Veer Savarkar International Airport, it is named after the freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar who was kept in the cellular jail in Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, for ten years. The airport is mainly a customs airport; however, it also shares a civil enclave used for domestic and international flights. It is located about 2 km south of the Port Blair city centre. The airport has a runway that is 3290 metres long and can accommodate narrow aircraft like the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737.
