About Jodhpur Airport

Jodhpur Airport (IATA: JDH) serves the second-largest city in Rajasthan. The airstrip, which was founded by Maharaja Umaid Singh near the Chittar Palace, rose in size over time. The Royal Air Force used the airport during World War II. Due to its strategic position, the airport was modernised soon after independence and became a significant home for the Indian Air Force. Until the 1965 conflict, Jodhpur was home to the Indian Air Force's Air Force College. As demand for flights rose, Jodhpur quickly began commercial air operations. The airport now has a 12-acre civil enclave with a terminal facility that is 5,690 sq m large and can accommodate 430 passengers per hour. The terminal has around seven check-in desks and three boarding gates. Air India and Indian Airlines are just a few of the major airlines that operate from the airport on a regular basis. As the airport is located 9 km from the city bus station, one can hop on a bus and taxi from the city centre to the airport. Passengers may make use of a range of facilities at the airport, including food outlets and a shopping area. Customers may enjoy drinks at cafeterias and several coffee shops. Duty-free stores are also available at the airport, where passengers may buy a variety of products at a reduced cost
