About Indore Airport

Indore Airport, officially known as Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport (IATA Code: IDR), is located at a distance of around 8 km from central Indore. The airport was built in 1945 and is named after the Maharani of the Maratha Empire, Alhiyabai Holkar. It is ranked as 20th busiest airport in India. It initially started as a domestic airport, but with the runway expansions that happened in 1996, it facilitated international flights too. The airport has two terminals: one for domestic flights enabling several arrivals and departures, and the other international terminal, which opened in 2012, allows 700 passengers per hour.
