About Bangalore Airport

The Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru serves Bengaluru and neighbouring districts. It is ranked as the twenty-ninth-busiest airport in Asia after Delhi and Mumbai in terms of passenger traffic and total cargo processing. With 311 flights a day, it handles roughly 10.91 million passengers. The single passenger terminal and its two runways service local and international flights. The second runway became operational on December 6, 2019. The construction of a second terminal (Phase 1) is nearing completion. Cargo terminals and a cargo settlement setup are also operational. An international hub for airlines such as DHL Aviation and IndiGo and a focus city for airlines such as Air India and SpiceJet, the airport at Bengaluru is a key entry and departure point in the country. The Airports Council International (ACI) named it the Best Airport in Asia-Pacific for 2020 (that served 25-40 million passengers annually). Reaching the airport by cab or bus is convenient and quick.

About Bangalore

Bengaluru is a diverse city with newer neighbourhoods (previous suburbs) spreading out in gridiron patterns to the north and south, with many parks and broad streets covering the length and breadth of the city. While exploring the city, travellers come across a key military area immediately to the southeast of the Bengaluru city centre. As of 2007, Bengaluruís outlying areas with significant green spaces and agriculture have come within the cityís boundaries. As the city's population and industry have grown, the Kaveri (Cauvery) River, located about 70 km south of the city, meets Bengaluruís water needs. The government has undertaken initiatives to expand the city's reservoir and water recycling system.
