The airport was built by the Andhra Pradesh Airports Development Cooperation and offers several passenger amenities. Full-scale domestic operations are yet to commence at this airport.

This airport has been ranked among the top 10 best airports around the world. In 2021, it became the fourth busiest airport in India in terms of passenger traffic. The airport also consists of one passenger terminal, a cargo terminal, and two runways. This airport caters to all domestic and international flights in and out of the country. Along with all this, it also has aviation training facilities, a fuel farm, a solar power plant, and MRO facilities. The main aviation companies in this airport are Alliance Air (India), SpiceJet, Lufthansa, QuickJet, TruJet, and IndiGo.

Hyderabad is a city in the Telangana state, it also serves as the capital of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It is situated on the Deccan plateau along the banks of the Musi River and is situated at an altitude of 500 m. It is situated on a hilly terrain with artificial lakes surrounding it, which also includes the Hussain Sagar lake. Hyderabad is also a popular tourist attraction and has a lot of sites that tourists could enjoy. It consists of many forts and historically significant monuments such as Char Minar. The climate in Hyderabad is warm, hot, and sometimes Rainy from June to October. Hyderabad is now a hub of trade and commerce and has an international centre for Information Technology. There are many forts and caves such as Golconda Fortress, and the Ajanta and Ellora caves. There are also a lot of museums situated in Hyderabad, such as Salar Jung Museum, which was established in 1951. It has a unique collection of furniture, jewellery, and paintings.
