Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar International Airport is named after the eminent personality of the Holkar dynasty from the Maratha Empire. This airport is situated about 8 km west of the city of Indore and is recognised as the busiest airport in central India. This airport received a new integrated terminal in February 2012. Since then, this terminal can efficiently handle about 700 passengers every hour. In addition, the terminal also provides modern escalators, conveyor belts as well as a capable system of baggage handling. This airport has 3 aerobridges as well as 2 ATMs. Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar International Airport is currently in its expansion stage.
