During the 1980s, the airport was exclusively used by Vayudoot to operate flights to other cities. Currently, it is being used for pilot training and aviation. Alliance Air and Air India operate flights from Bilaspur to New Delhi, Prayagraj, Jabalpur, and Bhopal. Recently, flights have been launched operating 4 days a week from Bilaspur to Indore. It has only one terminal building. The single runway can accommodate the landing of a 72-seater aircraft. All basic facilities are available at the small airport.
