About Trivandrum Airport

Trivandrum International Airport (IATA: TRV, ICAO: VOTV), presently known as Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, was set up in 1932. The airport is located about 6 km away from the city centre and is spread over 700 acres. It is one of the busiest international airports in India by traffic. Besides civil operations, the airport houses the headquarters for the Southern Air Command (India) of the Indian Coast Guard and Indian Air Force (IAF). Trivandrum Airport also serves the Rajiv Gandhi Academy for Aviation Technology, where pilot training activities happen. The airport handles the MRO repair, the overhaul unit, and the narrow body maintenance of Air India. Trivandrum Airport is a single-runway airport with two terminal buildings.
