About Bikaner Airport

Jodhpur airport is a civil enclave airport in the city of Jodhpur. In the 1920s, Maharaja Umaid Singh established the Jodhpur Flying Club at a small airport near his Chittar Palace in Jodhpur. During the next three decades, this airfield grew in importance, serving as a base for the Royal Air Force (RAF) during World War II. The Jodhpur airport is managed by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), and it connects its planeside with the Indian Air Forceís Jodhpur Air Base (IAF). With over 500,000 passengers coming through each year, Jodhpur airport is Indiaís 44th busiest airport. The Rajasthan government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Air Force in March 2017 for the extension of the civil enclave, under which AAI will receive 37 acres of IAF land.
