About Patna Airport

Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport (IATA: PAT, ICAO: VEPT), popularly known as Patna Airport, is a customs airport located in Patna. The airport was named in honour of Jayprakash Narayan, a noted Indian freedom fighter. The Bihar state capital Patna lies 5 km southwest of the Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport. The airport only offers domestic flights and has one runway. The distance between the airport and Patna Railway Station is 5 km. Due to its location on the south bank of the Ganga River, Patna draws a sizable number of domestic and foreign visitors each year. The AAI currently intends to establish a new international airport in Patna as a result of the increase in foreign visitors. It has two terminals, where T1 handles domestic flights and T2 operates international flights. The airport offers several useful services to passengers, making air travel to and from Patna comfortable.

About Patna

Patna has a rich and storied past; governed by great kings at different points in history, sought for its lush plains (the city stands on the south bank of the renowned Ganges River), and esteemed for its academic institutes such as Nalanda. Today, it is one of the fastest-developing cities in India. Patna, previously known as Pataliputra, Pataligram, Azimabad, Kusumpur, etc., has played a vital role in the history of India. It is said that Patna was founded by King Ajatashatru, and it also served as the capital of the Mauryan empire during the reign of Chandragupta Maurya. His successors, including Ashoka the Great, ruled from Pataliputra. The city was the hub of two of the largest faiths in India - Buddhism and Jainism. It is also an important destination for the Sikh community, as Shri Guru Govind Singh Ji, the 10th Guru of the Sikhs, was born and raised in Patna. One of the most popular dishes to try in Patna is Litti Chokha; it is a must-have. Ghee is used for coating the outside of this savoury wheat and sattu ball. The busiest and most favourable season to visit Patna is winter, from October to March. Patnaís public transportation system makes it simple to get around the city. You can try out many means of local public transportation, including pre-paid taxis. You can also rent cars to travel around for sightseeing.

About Jammu Airport

Officially known as the Jammu Civil Enclave, Jammu Airport (IATA: IXJ, ICAO: VIJU) is a domestic airport serving Jammu and nearby areas. It is only 14 km from the India-Pakistan border. Currently, the airport has a single terminal with five gates and handles only domestic flight operations. Also called the Satwari Airport, the airport in Jammu has an asphalt runway, and a new, extended runway has recently been built. This new runway will soon be integrated with the existing one. The new runway allows night landing, given the advanced technology used to construct it. Jammu welcomes countless pilgrims keen to visit the magnificent Mata Vaishno Devi Temple in Katra every year. Baggage trolleys, wheelchair facilities for the elderly and physically challenged, a lost and found baggage counter, a child care room, medical rooms, and a business centre are some amenities available at the Jammu Airport.

About Jammu

Jammu is part of Jammu and Kashmir, a Union Territory in India. One of the most popular cities known for its ancient Hindu temples, Jammu welcomes huge crowds every year, particularly pilgrims visiting Maa Vaishno Devi Temple. Jammu is surrounded by the Himalayas in the north and has beautiful plains in the southern region. It is located along the banks of the majestic Tawi, a tributary of River Chenab and whose source is the holy Kailash Kund. While it is known for picturesque views, Jammu is equally popular as the City of Temples. Jammuís climate is much like that of other North Indian states. Summers here are extremely hot, with temperatures rising to 46∞C in June, the hottest month. Winters are extremely cold, with the temperature falling to 4∞C in January. The winter often brings heavy rainfall, snow, and smog, reducing visibility. Hence, the best months to travel to Jammu are March, April, September, or October. The weather is fairly comfortable during this period, making sightseeing more enjoyable.
