About Amritsar Airport

The Amritsar airport or the Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport (IATA: ATQ), is named after the town's founder, Guru Ram Das. It is an international airport serving the regions of Jammu, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh. The airfield, located approximately 11 km from the city centre on the Amritsar-Ajnala route, is among the largest in Northern India and handles over 100 international as well as domestic flights. Amritsar, formerly named Ramdaspur and popularly Ambarsar, is a town located in northwestern India .
