About Jaipur

Famous globally as the Pink City, Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, is an architectural delight. Raja Jai Singh II founded the city in 1727. The city is a must-visit for domestic and international tourists because of its architectural marvels, colourful culture, and the two UNESCO World Heritage sites of Jantar Mantar and Amer Fort. It is also the gateway to the rest of Rajasthan and is part of the famed Golden Triangle Circuit. Jaipur, the epitome of Rajasthani culture and history, is home to various palaces like the Hawa Mahal and Jal Mahal, forts like the Nahargarh Fort, museums like the Anokhi Museum, and ethnic shopping hubs like the Nehru Bazaar, Bapu Bazaar, and Tripolia Bazaar. In every nook and corner of Jaipur, something interesting is lined up. Jaipur is called the 'Pink City' as the buildings in the central district here have the characteristic pink colour. As per legend, the buildings were painted pink during Sawai Ram Singhís time to impress Prince Albert in 1876. The main types of road transportation are buses, taxis, and private vehicles. RSRTC operates a local bus service that connects Rajasthan's major urban areas with neighbouring states.

About Jodhpur

Called the Blue City, the distinct blue-coloured buildings of Jodhpur are the most striking sight for anyone visiting the city for the first time. The second-biggest city in Rajasthan, Jodhpur, was founded in 1459. It is said that the past city inhabitants coloured their homes blue to prevent insects from entering. The blue colour was also believed to keep the house cool during the hot summer. Old Jodhpur has eight palatial entry gates surrounding the Mehrangarh Fort, as it served as the capital of the Marwar Empire. The new city has developed outside the fort. The other striking feature of Jodhpur is that it is set against the backdrop of the Thar Desert. The city is known for its extravagant royal forts and palaces. Jodhpur is also called the Sun City as the Marwar kings were all worshippers of the sun god. Additionally, the city receives plenty of sun throughout the year. The people of Jodhpur are known for their hospitality. They speak a Marwari dialect. Mawa kachori, pyaaz kachori, makhaniya lassi, panchkuta, and mirchi bada are all popular dishes in Jodhpur. Sweets purchased from Janta Sweet Home, Pokhar Sweets, and Jodhpur Sweet Home are all delicious. The Marwar Festival and the Jodhpur International Desert Kite Festival are the two most important festivities in Jodhpur. The city is also noted for its superb arts and music.
