NTR Amaravati International Airport (IATA: VGA) is a civilian, international airport that serves the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region, and is 25 km away from Vijayawada in the Gannavaram region. It is managed by the Airports Authority of India and was formerly called Gannavaram Airport. Previously, it also served as an army base during World War II, allowing only military aircraft to take flight. There are two terminalsódomestic and internationalóin the airport.
