Officially known as Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport, Agartala Airport (IATA: IXA) is located 12 km northeast of Agartala. It is the third-busiest airport in the Northeast. It was built by Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur in 1942. The airport runs flights by several airlines, including SpiceJet, IndiGo, and Air India to various cities across India, including Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Silchar, Imphal, Aizawl, Bangalore, and Hyderabad.
