Kadapa Airport (IATA Code: CDP) is located around 12 km northwest of Kadapa (formerly Cuddapah) in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It is spread across 669.5 acres of land and costs around INR 42 crores to upgrade. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, India's Civil Aviation Minister, inaugurated the upgraded airport on June 7, 2015. The airport terminal building can handle 100 peak-hour passengers at a time, and the apron can accommodate three ATR-72 aircraft. A new 2,000 by 46-metre runway was completed in 2009 for Rs. 21 crores under the Build, Operate, and Transfer (BOT) model. A compound wall 11 Km long was also built for Rs. 24 crores. At Rs.13 crores, the second phase included the construction of an Air Traffic Control (ATC) building, a passenger terminal, parking bays, and internal roads.
