In the following centuries, many temples were constructed in the region. In 1948, Bhubaneswar became the capital of Odisha. Today, Bhubaneswar has a robust road network, with connections to cities across the state as well as to its neighbouring states, including Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, and Chhattisgarh.
