The Kanpur Airport (IATA: KNU), also known as the Chakeri Air Force Station, was designed specifically for the Indian Air Force. It is situated about 14 km away from the Kanpur city centre and connects to major Indian cities such as Mumbai, New Delhi, and Bengaluru, via airline carriers such as SpiceJet and IndiGo. Installation of a new terminal, along with provisions such as the Night Landing Facility (NLF) and Instrumental Landing System (ILS) are expected to be completed by January 2023. A single domestic terminal serves domestic flights to and from Kanpur with two boarding gates. The terminal has a total capacity of 50 passengers for both arrivals and departures. The 390 square meters terminal has one check-in and one security counter. There are two X-Ray baggage scanning machines at the airport as well.
