About Pune Airport

Pune Airport is located 10 km from the city centre in Lohegaon district of Pune, Maharashtra. It is also known as Lohegaon Airport due to its location, and its IATA code is PNQ. The airport was inaugurated in 1939 as a Royal Air Force base, but it was converted to an international airport in 2005. Controlled and managed by the Airports Authority of India, it is improved for better amenities such as multi-brand restaurants and progressive network of public transportation. IndiGo operates 150 non-stop flights from Pune to various key destinations in India every week. The newly integrated terminal covers an area of 7,50,000 sq m and has a passenger handling capacity of 16 million passengers per annum. Currently, there are 11 security booths, 29 check-in counters, 6 custom desks, and 12 immigration desks. The new terminal building is estimated to accommodate 1024 cars. Moreover, airport facilities include a medical inspection room, childcare rooms, ATM and cash machines, currency exchange counters, assistance to the elderly and the differently-abled, Wi-Fi, etc. Passengers can also spend their time at spa services, souvenir shops, restaurants, and snack bars.
