Agatti Airport (IATA Code: AGX) is a spectacular airport surrounded by ocean. It is the main point of connectivity between Lakshadweep and the rest of India. It was developed in 1987. The modern terminal construction commenced in 2006 and was open for use in the year 2010. There are two X-ray baggage scanners at the premises for the security of travellers. Amenities like wheelchairs and medical facilities are also available in the airport premises. Regular auto and private taxis are available to travel between the town and the airport. One can also reach the airport using the ferry services from other parts of Lakshadweep.

Agatti Island is a group of smaller islands located approximately 459 km from Cochin. The island serves as the primary access point to and from other parts of India. The presence of the airport also ensures a faster travel time to Lakshadweep. Agatti Island is rich in biodiversity. Alcohol is banned on Agatti, and most Lakshadweep and tourists are not allowed to consume it.
