Agatti Island Airport (IATA code: AGX) is located in Lakshadweep and is the only airport servicing all the islands in this island chain. It only has flights to its nearest city on the mainland, which is Kochi. The airport was inaugurated in 1988, and initially, the terminal was a temporary structure. The construction of the airportís current modern terminal was completed in 2010. This airport has a single terminal and a boarding gate, which can handle 25 passengers each in arrivals and departures. There is one check-in and one security counter, two X-ray baggage screening stations, wheelchair assistance, and a medical centre. Auto-rickshaws and ferry services are available outside the airport to transport travellers to other destinations from the airport.
