About Lakshadweep Airport

Agatti Airport (IATA: AGX) is the sole airport in Lakshadweep Islands. Inaugurated in 1988, the airport was only equipped initially with only temporary facilities, which were made permanent and full-fledged by 2010. Today, Agatti Airport has the most scenic runways measuring 1,204 metres in length, which stretch to the ocean. The airport is controlled by the Airports Authority of India. Agatti Airport has a single domestic terminal spread across 566 sq m. It can handle 25 passengers for both arrivals and departures and features one check-in and one security counter. Currently, the airport only connects to the Keralite city of Kochi via one airline carrier, Alliance Air. Some facilities provided by the airport include X-Ray baggage screening, wheelchairs, and free medical facilities. The airport also has food and beverage joints for passengers waiting at the airport. There is also a 2,000 sq m parking area, which can house around 75 cars. The airport also has transport facilities such as auto-rickshaws and ferries to take passengers to their desired destinations.
