Leh Airport, officially known as Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport (IATA), serves the union territory of Ladakh. At 3,256 metres (10,682 feet) above mean sea level, it is Indiaís highest commercial airport. The airport is named after Indian statesman and monk Kushok Bakula Rinpoche. The airport has facilities like a baby care room, smoking room, multiple ATMs, arrival hall assistance, etc. The Airports Authority of India is building a passenger terminal adjacent to the current terminal at a cost of 480 crores due to an increase in passenger traffic.
