About Kandla Airport

Kandla Airport, also known as the Gandhidham Airport, is located in the Gujarati district of Kutch, north of Kandla and Gandhipuram. The airport was built in the 1950s. Indian Airlines began passenger service in 1960 with its Avro aircraft, which was subsequently followed by the Vayudoot. Gujarat Airways and Jet Airways operated flights to Mumbai till 1999. Flight Deccan began running daily air services from Mumbai to Kandla, utilising ATR aircraft, in October 2006. The airport, which covers 268.2 acres, also contains a terminal building that can accommodate 100 people at a time. The apron covers a total area of 5400 m2 and includes two parking bays for ATR72 aircraft.

About Kandla
