About Ujjain Airport

Named after Maharani Ahilya Bai Holkar from the Maratha Empire, the Indore Airport is an international airport even though complete operations of international flights are yet to begin. This airport, located about 8km from the Indore city centre, is one of the most prominent airports in the central part of India and the 18th busiest airport in India. Round-the-clock operations of the airport were started in 2018. The airport is currently being maintained and managed by the Airports Authority of India and is being expanded to handle more rush. New and advanced equipment is also being installed in the airport. One of its biggest achievements for this airport has been the award of the World Standardisation Certificate by the Worlds Book of Records, UK. Indore Airport has one single integrated terminal capable of handling 700 passengers every hour and 96 flights each day. The new terminal has amenities like escalators and a hi-tech baggage handling system. There are two ATMs, a food court, and numerous shopping stalls. In 2017, Indore Airport was awarded the best airport in the 2 million passenger category in the Asia-Pacific region by the Airports Council International.

About Ujjain

Ujjain is a city in the district of Ujjain, present in the state of Madhya Pradesh. It is the fifth largest city in Madhya Pradesh in terms of population.
