About Madurai Airport

Madurai Airport (IATA: IXM) is located 12 km from the Madurai railway station. It is an international airport that connects Madurai and other adjoining districts of Tamil Nadu to various cities and countries. The airport has two terminals: one is the old terminal, and the other is the new integrated terminal. The integrated new terminal is used for both domestic and international flights from Madurai. The old terminal was converted into a cargo terminal in 2017. Madurai Airport was established in 1957 and has been used since then. There are 16 check-in counters, 2 security counters, 12 immigration counters, and 5 customs counters in the new integrated terminal. The new terminal is constructed over an area of 17,560 sq m and can handle 250 passengers. There are numerous facilities available at Madurai Airport.
