About Madurai Airport

Madurai Airport (IATA: IXM, ICAO: VOMD) is an international and customs airport. The airport is situated at a distance of 12 km from the Madurai railway station. The Madurai airfield was first used in 1942 during World War II. The airport consists of two terminals that are adjacent to each other. One is the old, original terminal, whereas the other is the new and integrated terminal. The old terminal of the airport was the only one initially, but in 2010 the new integrated terminal was established. The airport is connected to major domestic cities like Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, and Delhi as well as connected to several International destinations like Dubai, Colombo, and Singapore.
