About Mumbai Airport

The Chhatrapati Shivaji International (CSI) Airport (IATA code: BOM) is one of India's most important transportation nodes due to its location in Mumbai, which serves as the country's financial centre. It is the second busiest airport in India and provides service to Mumbai and its surrounding suburbs. The airport is unique as its domestic and international terminals are located in different parts of the city, namely in the western suburbs of Santacruz and Andheri. The Juhu Aerodrome, which served as the city's previous aviation base, was demolished to make way for the construction of Santacruz Airport in 1942. The airport was eventually extended to accommodate the growing volume of air traffic, with the building of a new terminal at Andheri. In 1999, the airport that had previously been known as the Sahar International Airport was given the new name of Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in honour of the well-known Maratha ruler. CSI Airport has two passenger terminals and is well connected by taxi and cab services.Travelling by bus is an option too. Trains are not connected to the airport, but several options exist to reach the station from the airport. It has Duty-free shops, several eateries, cafes and restaurants, baggage carts, medical services, and free WiFi.
