About Leh Airport

Leh Airport, also known as the Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport (IATA code: IXL), is owned by the Indian Air Force and operated by the Airports Authority of India. It is the 23rd highest commercial airport globally, at an altitude of 3,256 metres above sea level. It is named after the statesman and monarch Kushok Bakula Rinpoche. The airport is located approximately 3 km from the city centre.
