About Rajahmundry Airport

The Rajahmundry Airport (IATA: RJA), is situated 18 km north of Rajahmundry on National Highway 516E. It can accommodate 150 people during peak hours and spans a total area of 366 acres. The airport has excellent transport links to various important cities, like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Kolkata, amongst others. The airport provides various services and amenities, including hotel booking centres, prepaid taxi services, medical and childcare services, charging outlets, Wi-Fi, and more. In addition, there are specialised services available to assist foreign travellers in mapping out their itineraries and booking tourist buses. It wasn't until May 2012 that the newly renovated airport welcomed its first scheduled commercial flights. Additional plans to extend the runway length are now being considered. The government has given 80 crores of Indian rupees to support these expansion efforts.

Rajahmundry, located in the south Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, is formally referred to as "Rajamahendravaram".
